Writing to Aid Those Suffering in Silence

LTAR Book Cover

Join author C. Nzingha Smith as she uses writing to address and shed an in depth light on a silent epidemic that has been masked over for generations and that will aid those who have endured a lifetime of silent suffering. Smith is reaching out to individuals, organizations and community groups to garner support through crowd funding for the upcoming memoir book project entitled,  “The Journey: Letters to A Rapist, A Memoir” (working title), with a tentative release date of August 2012. The KickStarter campaign gives an overview of the book project, it's goal and it's purpose and lists in detail ways in which you as individuals can aid in making this much needed project a success. In addition to the book project when the campaign is fully funded; a documentary project will be created, which will go even further than the book on taking a look inside the life of healed survivors of child sexual abuse and rape giving those in need of healing a blueprint on how to heal themselves and a network of support.

Here is a link to the KickStarter page to view the video and take a look at the rewards offered to donors of the projecthttp://kck.st/th8l3A. I currently need 10,690 people to give $1 or more (that's 100 pennies, 4 quarters, 10 dimes, or 20 nickels) in order to get the project funded within the next week. Dealing with child sexual abuse might not be a problem you've had to deal with, but you have the oppportunity to be apart of a solution. Help me spread the word and lend your support by tweeting, "liking" the page and sending the link in an email to your inner circles.

"The book is the story of the reformation of broken pieces. Letters To A Rapist is not only my story, but the story of so many other children in our community, our country and the world. It is my hope in writing this book that others who have experienced child sexual abuse, rape or any other type of abuse will be encouraged to deal with, overcome and heal from their experiences and to forgive those who have hurt them, so in turn they can have total peace. I hope they will be able to learn and relate to my story in a way where they feel empathy and love jump off the pages. Healing comes out of not only dealing with the issues that arise as a result of the act, but also by us becoming transparent for others to look to and have an example of how to get through it. Our experiences are not just for us, but also for those around us. My hope is to share the project with as many people, organizations and networks as possible to help continue to spread awareness about child sexual abuse and rape as well as help spread the word about the upcoming project and give individuals an opportunity to lend support. Visit KickStarter to lend your support by January 11, 2012." ~C. Nzingha Smith
